Short 03: What the heck is Valiant comics, anyway?

Download podcast here.

Sometimes, people have a lot of time on their hands and lots of ambition. Those people can turn to making custom action figures of properties that were canceled a decade ago. (Evidence? See above.) However, sometimes that nostalgia can work for something great, as in the case of the resurrection of Valiant comics. What's that? You've never heard of Valiant comics? Well then, pay attention and you'll learn a thing or two.

Breakdown
Valiant's history: 00:00 - 00:06
Reviews of their current titles: 00:06 - 00:23

We'll be honest - both of us are enjoying the Summer of Valiant! If this is what happens when motivated people are given venture capital, then by all means, let's get the money flowing. This is a stellar example of what can happen when old properties are resurrected right.

What do you think of the Valiant relaunch? Are you picking up any of the books? Join the conversation on our Facebook or Twitter pages, and or contact us at talk@betweenthebubbles.com with any insights, comments, or questions you might have! Because we're here for you, dear listeners - and we just want to say hi.

Episode 10: Spider-Man is old. Like, really old.

Download podcast here.

New episode! Amazing Spider-Man 50th anniversary issue. Worth the hype? Worth the six bucks? Guess you'll have to listen to find out. Brubaker is leaving us high and dry! Rob Liefeld is a jerk! Creator owned books are the best? Fact. Damian Wayne is a troublemaker. Braeden loved the Punisher this week! Darin loved Darth Vader too. All this and then some!

Breakdown
Comics news: 00:00 - 00:13
Comics reviews: 00:13 - 00:55
Weekly features: 00:55 - 01:06

On top of this scrumptious episode, we recorded a very special panel episode today - but you all don't get to hear it for another few weeks. Because of reasons. Reasons we choose to keep to ourselves (it'll all become clear soon). In the meantime, let us know if there's anything you'd like us to talk about and join the conversation on our Facebook or Twitter pages, and or contact us at talk@betweenthebubbles.com with any insights, comments, or questions you might have! Because why not.

Short 02: Chatting with the in-laws!

As reported last week, Braeden was out of town to attend his brother-in-law's wedding - but while he was out there, he couldn't help but take some time to interview his other-brother-in-law Garrett and the Apostle of Appreciation himself (and Braeden's father-in-law) Chester, who both talk about their adventures in comic collecting and what they might want to start picking up now. It's pretty fun - and listen to those sultry voices!

Breakdown
Garrett: 00:00 - 00:08
Chester: 00:08 - 00:20

Enjoy, and don't forget to admire that new unique URL we have up top! We're all grown up now. We spent actual money on this podcast besides the ridiculous amounts we spend on the comics we review every week. Let us know that someone besides Braeden's mother-in-law listens to this podcast and join the conversation on our Facebook or Twitter pages, and or contact us at talk@betweenthebubbles.com with any insights, comments, or questions you might have!

Episode 08: Separated by many miles.

Download podcast here.

Two things about this new episode: 1) Braeden and Darin had to record this episode separately, because Braeden is a whole time zone away and they were unable to coordinate a time to record simultaneously. Consequently, the first half is all-Braeden, all the time, and the second half is Darin-central. So enjoy that and all. Additionally: 2) the last three minutes of Braeden's section was lost in the mysterious ether of time, and therefore it just cuts off. So that's a thing.

Anyway. Enjoy the reviews and at least two pieces of pressing news!

Breakdown
Braeden's half: 00:00 - 00:29
Darin's half: 00:29 - 00:54

I know, dear listener - it's not nearly as fun when the two aren't together, but they'll be back together in no-time. So enjoy this in the meantime and wish Braeden safe travels so they can get back together and provide more entertainment! Let us know why we're better together here, or on the Facebook page, or through twitter, and of course, you can contact us at betweenthebubblespodcast@gmail.com with any insights, comments, or questions you might have!

Short 01: Kiddie interviews and X-Men talk!

Download podcast here.

Here it is, our very first short! Hope you enjoy it. It features easily our best interview ever - with 4 year old Matthew, a huge superhero aficionado! He even shares with us his own invention, the Green Ninja. Then, we follow it up with an interview with his stepdad, Jordan, who is a huge fan of X-Men and Spider-Man, but their animated incarnations, rather than their comic versions. It's a fun bonus episode, and we hope you really like it!

Breakdown
Matthew: 00:00 - 00:05
Jordan: 00:05 - 00:18

Enjoy, and join the conversation on our Facebook or Twitter pages, and or contact us at betweenthebubblespodcast@gmail.com with any insights, comments, or questions you might have!

Episode 07: Braeden and his Spidey crush.

Download podcast here.

Braeden has lots to say this week about Spider-Man. It's one of the few staple Marvel books that didn't get a new creative team announcement this week - listen to that list of new teams named this week! Action Comics? It's a winner this month. Think Tank? It was boring. Sorry. Plus, you know, reviews of other stuff and plenty of quirky commentary.

Breakdown
Comics news: 00:00 - 00:12
Comics reviews: 00:12 - 00:46
Weekly features: 00:46 - 01:02

At the very end, we have a bit of a discussion about DC's 0 issues next month for the New 52 - whether it'll be a good idea, or a colossal annoyance. Let us know what you think here, or on the Facebook page, or through twitter, and of course, you can contact us at betweenthebubblespodcast@gmail.com with any insights, comments, or questions you might have!
